He’s excited to get to the beach, meet new friends, have an adventure or three, and work on his lazy.

Doesn’t even need a beach to get his chill on. But the sun is oh so good for his coat, plus lady bears like a bear with some salt water in his coat.
Just 12 more hours…

List of things to bring on next trip:

• Lightbulb(s). Colored and/or low-light, to replace the bulb that is, without fail, as bright as possible, usually within 3 feet of my head in whatever room I’m in, always without a shade. Don’t mind it during the day, but some mood lighting at night would be nice.
• Technology that does not break. Possible solution: waterproof paper and pen. See: pen found in ocean. (seriously awesome find… I’ve always wanted to be on antiques roadshow!)
• Sun screen. Day 4 of sun burn and still too cheap to buy a $15 bottle of SPF 30.
• DEET and/or eucalyptus oil. Would rather stink like a hippie than deal with these bites any more.
• Loved one. Kinda lonely, just like last time.
• BoomToob. These love ballads are gettin’ old!
• A group of people with the drive and motivation to throw a totally awesome party on an idyllic beach in a 3rd world country, just because we can.

SJDL

In a cozy little, somewhat touristy, beach town called San Juan del Sur. Been running around enjoying sights I missed last time, reliving some memories of the past I remember fondly with even greater enjoyment this time, for the most part.
Laptop is still acting up, so I am making this update short out of fear that I will get the blue screen of death for the hundredth time. I’ve pretty much given up on it – and keeping any sort of regular, public record – for the duration of this trip. Sorry friends and family!
On the bright side, I have a whole extra hour a day now to sit in bus terminals or fall asleep exhausted in hotel rooms at night.

Hope all is well at home with all of you. Miss almost all of you =)

Off/On/Off/On

Went off the grid, swam in the ocean, was consumed by the infinite, got sunburned, got devoured by mosquitos, spent more than half the time cramped on a bus without A/C… loving every m inute of it.
PS – major technology fail continues. Will post more when life permits.

HOT DAMN!

Leon, Nicaragua is HOT. Headed up to Jiquillilio today where it is likely even hotter… but at least there is a beach! Paradise or something?
Wish all of my technology wasnt broken so I could take the time to share more experiences… but it is all kind of non stop at the moment. Gotta go catch a bus to catch another bus to make it out before sunset.
Life, with goals and determination. Even if that goal is lounging… it is the way I most enjoy this life.

The good news:

Detroit was awesome! So much fun. Posted some pics to FB. More to come some day.

Made it to Costa Rica! Hanging at a hostel until hopefully catching a bus at 4am for several hours… hopefully sleep will find me there.

 

The bad:

My laptop appears to be dead. Probably the hard drive. Luckily I backed up my files right before leaving… however, this means that it’s going to be really hard to do the consistent updates I was hoping for. Definitely less media sharing… pictures and the like will have to wait until I get back.

Kinda irked that my brand new laptop decided to crap out on the plane to detroit. Not 3 hours earlier while I was working on it at home. Now I have a really expensive 4 lb brick.

Okay, that’s the last about that.

Better news: WOOO! Everything else is going according to plan.
